Those lucky enough to secure tickets here for the April 27 event in London can look forward to a night of high-flying, high-energy entertainment that guarantees action left and right with four exciting matchups.
The event will feature 15 wrestlers, including iconic Lucha Britannia characters such as El Pirana and Britannico, along with new faces to be revealed on the night.
Fans can also expect special guest appearances at the “Wrestle Mexicana” event hosted by Domino’s to mark the launch of their new Ultimate Chicken Mexicana pizza.
But there was a time when Lucha Britannia founder Garry Vanderhorne feared that the British public would never see his show again.
He said, “I’m actually very excited.”
“The pandemic hit our passion for Lucha Libre so we are all looking forward to bringing a night like no other to Shoreditch on Thursday 27th April.
“We have always had a love for the ring, so returning after three years we couldn’t be more excited to bring Lucha Libre to the masses.
“Trust us, if you manage to get a ticket, you’re in for a surprise and probably the best night of the year… but that’s just bias!”
Britannia Wrestling is the largest fighting school in Europe and is home to a hybrid of many fighting styles.
Vanderhorne started the events in 2007 motivated by the need for a wrestling product in Great Britain.
While the wrestling market in the west is dominated by WWE, he wanted to combine America’s love of story and character with the high-octane aerial combat of Mexican wrestling, thus Lucha Britannia was born.
He added: “Lucha Britannia is all about my love of Mexican masks and lucha libre, and we are so grateful to Domino’s for bringing this night together.
“Lucha is wacky and acrobatic, but often doesn’t make sense in the way of telling a story, whereas American wrestling is largely story and character driven.
“The main reason people enjoy watching wrestling is for entertainment and enjoyment, and Lucha Britannia is all about bringing high-energy action.
And it’s done wonders for Vanderhorne, too.
He added: “By coming to wrestling, learning moves and being in the community, you get that extra confidence.
“When the crowd yells my name, your adrenaline pumps and you walk down the street a little taller, prouder and with a little more love for life.
“It was a crowd at a wrestling show that taught me to love who I am because they told me it’s okay to be me.”
In addition to the wrestling at the event, guests can expect a live DJ and pizza at night. It is believed that a large number of celebrities and influencers will also attend.
It will take place on Thursday, April 27, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Village Underground, 54 Holywell Ln, London, EC2A 3PQ.
Tickets can be bought for just £10, but you’ll have to be quick as there is limited availability.
Each ticket covers admission, 1 personal-size Domino’s pizza, and a soft drink or alcoholic beverage of your choice.
The latest pizza to join Domino’s menus features all-new ingredients including fragrant spiced shredded chicken, spicy green jalapenos, crisp onions, and green and red bell peppers, and finishes with a new drizzle of spiced mayonnaise to give fans of the pizza a real kick.
