‘Vanderpump Rules’ recap: Tom kept partying after learning Ariana’s grandma had died

Ariana Madix confronted Tom Sandoval for choosing to stay at a party instead of going home to comfort her after learning of her grandmother’s death.

During Wednesday’s episode of “Vanderpump Rules,” Lala Kent pulled the “Dead Want Women” actress aside at an event and told her that Sandoval opted to stay at a Labor Day party, even after learning that the his then-girlfriend’s grandmother, Phyllis “Bonnie”. Cameron had passed away.

Madix then calls Sandoval to ask about Kent’s revelation, which turns out to be different from what he initially told her.

“I found out that my grandmother died while you were there. You knew and then Jason (Sandoval’s ride home) said, ‘I’m going to go,’ and then you said, ‘Am I going to stay?’” Madix asked the bar owner.

Sandoval previously told Madix that Jason, who had agreed to drive him home, left the party without telling him.

However, Kent, who was also at the barbecue, called the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras frontman and said that she personally saw Jason tell him he was leaving the party.

“Well, yeah, I figured you’d want to be alone,” Sandoval, 40, said after being caught in the lie.

“I should have, I just thought you might like it a bit, I don’t know,” she continued to mumble.

Madix continued to question Sandoval, who also claimed that he could not get a ride home.

“You do realize you put me in a position with this where people will think I’m a fucking idiot,” Madix told him. “Everyone thinks you just wanted to hang out there for a few hours after that.”

The Something About Her co-owner, 37, explained in a confessional that the situation was difficult for her to understand because he was there for her when her father died a few years ago.

“When my dad passed away 10 years ago, we weren’t even together at the time, and he thought it was such a big priority that he would drop everything and be there for me,” she explained.

Madix added that now, nearly nine years into their relationship, “he feels like maybe he doesn’t think I’m that important anymore.”

“I choose Tom over everyone, I walk or die for you, so I look like an idiot being Tom’s number one fan when he’s not my number one fan,” she added in her confessional.

Unfortunately, Madix’s gut feeling ended up being correct, as Sandoval had been having an affair with his close friend and co-star Raquel Leviss for months.

Madix didn’t find out about the affair until months later, when she found a sexually explicit video of Leviss, 28, on Sandoval’s phone. He subsequently left him on March 1.

“Vanderpump Rules” airs Wednesdays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
