Trump welcomes the departure of Don Lemon from CNN and regrets the departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox

Former President Donald Trump welcomed the departure of journalist Don Lemon from CNN and then reacted with dismay to the sudden removal of Tucker Carlson at Fox News.

“Good news: ‘Dumbest Man on TV’ Don Lemon has finally been fired from Fake News CNN,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Monday.

He added: “My only question is, WHAT TAKEN THEM SO LONG?”

Lemon, who had been a CNN anchor since 2014, was an outspoken critic of Trump.

Lemon once opened a broadcast calling the former president a “racist.”

After the January 6 attack on the Capitol when Trump was removed from Twitter and other social media sites, Lemon called him “the biggest snowflake of all.”

Trump referred to Lemon as “the dumbest man on TV” and “the sour lemon.”

The CNN anchor announced on Twitter that he had been unexpectedly fired from the network. For the past several months, Lemon had been hosting CNN this morning with Kaitlin Collins and Poppy Harlow.

Lemon’s departure from CNN came shortly before Fox News announced that Carlson would also be leaving his respective network.

Trump said he was “shocked” to hear the news about Carlson, who mostly portrayed a staunch ally of the former president during his primetime show on Fox’s weekday afternoon show.

The former president told Newsmax that Carlson is “a very good person, a very good man and very talented.”

“I don’t know if he volunteered or someone fired, but I think Tucker has been great. Especially in the last year, he was fantastic with me, ”he said.

Carlson recently interviewed Trump on his show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, and defended him during his most recent indictment by the Manhattan district attorney.

However, Dominion’s defamation lawsuit against Fox News, which ended with the network’s payment of $787.5 million to the voting machine company, revealed that Carlson had privately messaged a colleague saying that he “passionately” hated the former president and thought he was a “demonic force.” ” and “a destroyer”.
