Savannah Chrisley and country singer Nate Smith have quietly split due to the former reality TV star’s hectic schedule while raising his brother Grayson and niece Chloe.
On Tuesday’s episode of her “Unlocked” podcast, the 25-year-old revealed that despite “having a lot of fun” with Smith, it was a case of “right person, terrible timing.”
“It was a great experience. I mean, I literally have nothing to say about him apart from having a lot of respect for him. It was a difficult situation for everyone involved,” he explained.
“I think it was very difficult because there were ways that we connected, very well. But also, it’s very difficult for anyone to understand the level of trauma that’s going on in my life right now,” she continued, referring to parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s current prison terms.
Savannah said Smith’s career has been “taking off” and, as he embarks on a stadium tour, “he needs someone who can go to those things and enjoy it with him.”
“There’s no way I’m going to do it without feeling guilty about leaving the kids,” Savannah explained. “So I have to figure out what the healthy balance is going to be of being able to have a personal life while having the kids and everything else involved.”
He then called the breakup “bittersweet,” admitting that while it’s the best thing for both of their lives, he’s afraid he’s the one that got away.
The podcast host was granted guardianship of her 16-year-old brother and 10-year-old niece in November 2022 after their parents were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for tax evasion and fraud.

Amid all the drama, Savannah was able to open her heart to love, revealing that she was “dating someone” in March.
However, even at the beginning of her relationship with Smith, Savannah admitted that dating was even more difficult now that she was a “package deal” with Grayson and Chloe.
“Now I see single moms, like, ‘How do you do it?’” she said on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast.
“And to them, it’s just a package. ‘You want to go to dinner? These two come along with’”.
Prior to her relationship with Smith, the “Chrisley Knows Best” alum was engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles. The couple separated in 2020.
