A chaotic Manchester United team crashed out of the Europa League after a regrettable loss to Sevilla in Spain.
Harry Maguire was caught with the ball on the edge of his box when Youssef En-Nesyri shot Sevilla ahead early in the game.
David De Gea was then beaten by a looping header from Loic Bade as United conceded two minutes after the restart. The goalkeeper then mishandled a long ball as En-Nesyri sealed United’s defeat.
United, at one point 2-0 in the tie, barely threatened in one of their worst performances of the season under Erik ten Hag.
This is how players classified as Sevilla advanced to the semifinals.

David de Gea, 1
A regrettable evening for the goalkeeper, one of the worst with the United shirt topped off with an inexplicable mistake. He should never have fainted before Maguire to begin with, and he was caught by Bade’s headbutt. He looks so fragile without Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martínez in front of him.
Aaron Wan Bissaka, 2
The right-back was hesitant in the early stages and was guilty of several careless touches. He set the tone for a dismal first-half performance and hooked up at halftime.
Harry Maguire, 2
His goalkeeper did not help him, but Maguire called for the pass and turned off at the crucial moment. Another tremendous mistake by the United captain, in a disastrous tie.
Victor Lindelof, 2
His partnership with Magurie was a disaster all night. There’s a reason neither is in United’s first-choice duo and Erik ten Hag won’t need another reminder.
Diogo Dalot, 3
His display was not as catastrophic as that of others in the United back line.
Casemiro, 3
A shadow of his usual self without several key players around him. Unable to help United take control and looked off pace.
Marcel Sabitzer, 2
He was lost in the center of the field. United needed Fred, who arrived too late.
Christian Eriksen, 2
He did not seem to be prepared for a game or environment of this level. Unable to offer what Fernandes would normally offer.
Anthony, 3
Perhaps the only United player to come out of the first half with any credit, and he was still well below the standard required. He lost his cool in the second half.
Jadon Sancho, 2
This was a great opportunity for Sancho and United needed a performance from him, but the winger didn’t seem up for the occasion. Nothing sharp enough, also hooked at half time.
Antonio Marcial, 2
Anonymous on his return to Seville and limped off in the second half with another injury problem. United just can’t trust him.
substitutes
Marcus Rashford, 4: United briefly improved after his tackle, but were unable to make an impact from the bench.
Luke Shaw, 5: Looking to recover from injury ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final. As if United’s night could get any worse.
Wout Weghorst, 4: Had some good touches and better linked play than Martial.
Fred, 4: Too late to make a difference and the midfield battle had already been lost.
