Paris St Germain condemned the actions of supporters who are believed to have gathered outside Neymar’s home and yelled at him to leave the club.
It’s been a tumultuous week for the Ligue 1 side, who suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks following an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia and saw their title hopes fade following a home loss to Lorient on Sunday. .
Fans were filmed on Wednesday chanting for the board to resign outside the club headquarters before other clips showed a group of supporters visiting Neymar’s home and asking him to leave.
Messi was also believed to be the target of frustrated fans calling for the World Cup winner to leave, having recently booed the Argentine at home games.
“Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of people that took place on Wednesday,” read a club statement.
“Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions.
“The club offers its full support to its players, its staff and all those who are subjected to such disgraceful behaviour.”
Reports suggest that Messi will leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the campaign after two seasons in Paris.
