No one rules the Met Gala red carpet quite like Rihanna.
And while his late arrival probably had fans asking “Where have you been?” Bad Gal and his partner A$AP Rocky, who are currently expecting his second child, finally made a red carpet entrance at the 2023 gala on Monday.
The “Love on the Brain” star stunned in a bridal-style white Valentino ensemble that featured a flower-adorned cape, dramatic train and sunglasses adorned with false eyelashes.
For his part, A$AP Rocky was comparatively casual, at least in his bottom half, as he rocked a Gucci suit jacket and kilt over a pair of shiny jeans.
A source previously told Page Six that the “Love on the Brain” singer had a secret fit to her look at 3 a.m. Saturday morning, involving $25 million worth of Cartier jewelry.
The white wedding dress she ended up wearing was perhaps an apt fashion to close the night, since Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel shows were known to end with a wedding look.
She took off her cape once inside the gala, revealing a dress adorned with matching rosettes that highlighted her baby bump.
Rihanna, 35, may well be the most anticipated arrival at the annual event at this point. Over the years, he’s assisted with iconic looks ranging from a pope-inspired Maison Margiela handcrafted ensemble (for the 2018 “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” gala) to a Comme des Garçons creation. covered with petals (for “Rei Kawakubo/ Comme des Garçons: the art of intermission”.
And who could forget Guo Pei’s stunning yellow gown she chose for the 2015 “China: Through the Looking Glass” themed carpet?
This year, the “Work” singer even got into the Met Gala spirit early, as she posed for Instagram in a cropped and furry Chanel jacket over the weekend.

Of course, Rihanna has never been one to tone down her fashion while she waits.
During her first pregnancy in 2022, the “Umbrella” hitmaker showed off her baby bump in a series of headline-making looks from the likes of Chanel, Dior and Gucci, each heavily accessorized.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought, there’s no way I’m going to go shopping in a maternity aisle,” Rihanna told Vogue last year. Sorry, it’s too much fun to dress up. I’m not going to let that part go away because my body is changing.”
The Fenty Beauty mogul also regularly plays around with stunning beauty looks. His makeup artist Priscilla Ono recently shared her must-haves with Page Six Style, telling us that every Met Gala look is “special in her way.”
“Especially for the Met, I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on the Met and there’s actually a lot of pre-glamor moments,” she added of the preparation process.
