They were partying all night!
Lionel Richie has spoken openly about his daughter Sofia’s lavish southern French wedding, saying he “cried enough” over the weekend.
The 24-year-old model married British music executive Elliot Grainge, 30, at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes in front of a star-studded guest list on Saturday.
And it looks like proud daddy Lionel is still riding high after the happy occasion.
“Listen to me, I’ve cried enough,” the 73-year-old singer told Extra TV.
“The girl got married. When I say that…it’s a great feeling,” added Lionel, who will perform at King Charles’ coronation concert.
“I must say that I have known Elliot since he was 9 years old. So I know his boyfriend very well. There’s something in the South that we always say: ‘Who are your people?’ Well, I know your people, so it really is a real wonder to see them in love and as happy as I’ve ever seen my little girl and Elliot.”
In addition to Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton, who was joined by her husband Carter Reum, celebrity guests also included Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, Nicole’s brother-in-law.
“It was a moment where, yes, I was letting her go, but I was also gaining a family,” the legendary singer continued. “The family is getting huge right now, but we’re happy.”
“He spent the whole time walking down the aisle: ‘I love you dad, I love you dad, I love you dad,’ and I’m like… ‘You’re killing me. You are killing me.’ But that’s what a parent wants to hear, and I love Baby Girl so much, and the family was there to support her,” the four-time Grammy winner added.
In a TikTok video of the wedding, Lionel proudly told guests “That’s my son!” while he walked arm in arm with the elegant bride.
“My little girl is all grown up and is starting her own journey with the love of her life. You will always be my little bird, but I am so proud of the woman you have become. Endless love to you and Elliot,” Richie said on Instagram.
The couple then sealed their union with a kiss before guests gathered for cocktails, dinner and capped off the night with a fireworks display.
When it came time for the couple’s first dance, they chose “Stuck On You” from the music legend himself.

Then, when Lionel stepped in for the father-daughter dance, they turned up the beat as they danced to The Temptations’ “My Girl.”
The music executive and Sofia began dating in 2021, but kept most of their romance out of the public eye.
After just over a year of dating, the couple announced their engagement in April 2022.
