Jimmie Allen and Alexis Gale are splitting up and waiting.
The country singer and his wife announced on Instagram Friday that they have ended their two-year marriage despite the fact that Gale is pregnant with their third child together.
“After much thought and reflection over the past several months, Lex and I have made the decision to separate,” Allen wrote.
“As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”
The “Freedom Was a Highway” singer noted that the estranged couple’s “number one priority is and always will be ensuring that [their] the children are healthy, happy and loved.”
They already share daughters Naomi, 3, and Zara, 1, plus Allen’s son Aadyn, 8, from a previous relationship.
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum, 37, shared that he and Gale, 27, “remain committed to co-parenting with love and mutual respect.”
He concluded his post by asking for “privacy during this time” in light of the news of the couple’s “growing family.”

Allen and the nurse secretly tied the knot in a private ceremony in June 2020 and hosted a larger Pennsylvania wedding in May 2021.
The “Down Home” singer admitted in August 2021, while his wife was pregnant with Zara, that he “never wanted to get married” until he met Gale.
“I wanted to be a dad and make music, that’s all,” he explained to People at the time. “The whole husband thing wasn’t something he ever wanted to do. But Alexis changed that. Now, I like it. She gives me some security.”
Allen added at the time: “She can’t just say, ‘I’m done.’ Divorce is a lot of paperwork!”
Whether that paperwork is now being drawn up remains to be seen.
