Jennifer Lopez stunned in a black and pink Ralph Lauren gown as she returned to the Met Gala red carpet, marking her first appearance at the annual fashion event since 2021 after missing last year’s gala.
The “If You Had My Love” singer, 53, shone in her dress that featured a black criss-cross front that almost covered her breasts.
The dress featured a fitted pink bottom with a dramatic black train attached to the back.
Telling Vogue on the red carpet that she wasn’t “sure about the hat,” the singer looked elegant in the veil, which was reminiscent of the mourning veils worn by the British royal family.
The headdress was a fitting accessory, as this year’s theme honors the memory of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died at the age of 85 in 2019.
Along with her headpiece, the star added a pink satin clutch, long black gloves and vegan Piferi platforms to her Met Gala look, sparkling with Lorraine Schwartz studs studded with 15 carats of diamonds.
Last time she walked the Met Gala red carpet, Lopez rocked a rodeo-ready look, wearing a plunging brown Ralph Lauren gown with a daring slit paired with some Western accessories.
She leaned into the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme in a cowboy hat, holster belt and chunky silver jewelry when her then-boyfriend Ben Affleck joined her after the red carpet.
The couple tied the knot in a small ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022 before hosting a lavish ceremony and reception in Georgia a few months later, walking down the aisle in a ruffled Ralph Lauren gown and changing into two sexy looks from the designer for the reception.
Another memorable Met Gala moment for the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, who has been a regular at the event since 1999, came when the “Marry Me” star wore a silver beaded Versace gown along with a sparkly wig in the camp. gala 2019.
And in 2018, she honored the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” by wearing a Balmain gown with a feathered train that featured cross-shaped jewels at the bust.
Other notable appearances include the billowing baby blue gown she wore to her first Met Gala with ex Alex Rodriguez in 2017 and the sexy one-shoulder Versace gown she wore to the 2015 “China: Through the Looking Glass” event.
