Donald Trump reacts to Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign ad
Donald Trump’s alleged rape of E Jean Carroll matches his “MO” of targeting random women, the first elle the lawyer for the magazine columnist told the jury Tuesday.
Opening arguments in the civil rape trial began Tuesday in a New York courtroom.
Ms Carroll has claimed that the former president raped her in a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in Manhattan in the mid-1990s.
He first spoke out about the allegations in 2019, when Trump was president.
He denied the incident occurred and infamously retorted, “She’s not my type.”
Now, Ms Carroll has her day in court after filing a new lawsuit in November, suing him for both the alleged sexual assault and for defaming her by denying it occurred.
The trial comes after New York passed its Adult Survivors Act, which gives victims of sexual abuse a one-year window to sue their attackers for historical assaults.
Most Americans don’t want Trump or Biden to run again, poll finds
With the 2024 presidential election shaping up to be a repeat of the 2020 showdown between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Americans are less than excited about the prospect of a rematch.
A recent Hart Research poll commissioned by NBC News found that a significant majority of Americans would rather see Trump and Biden retire than run for a second term at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Some 70 percent of Americans, including a slim majority of 51 percent of self-identified Democrats polled, said Biden should not run for another term, while 60 percent of those polled, including 33 percent of Republicans contacted, said Mr. Trump should also step aside.
For those polled who want Biden to retire rather than seek a second term, 48 percent said the age of the 46th president is an “important” factor why they would prefer him to step aside in favor of someone else. .

Decades after she was allegedly raped by a New York real estate mogul who would become the 45th president of the United States, E Jean Carroll is having her day in court.
Carroll, writer and former advice columnist for elle magazine, is the plaintiff in a pair of civil lawsuits against former President Donald Trump.
One of those lawsuits will now be filed in New York City federal court beginning Tuesday, April 25, when a jury will be selected under the supervision of U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan.
Those jurors, who will remain anonymous by order of Judge Kaplan due to the risk of threats, intimidation, or direct violence against anyone Trump and his supporters consider an enemy, will hear evidence of Carroll’s allegations against the defendant twice and Imputed ex-president.

Former President Donald Trump has suggested he plans to skip the Republican primary debates because of his lead in the polls and alleged bias against him.
“I see everyone talking about the GOP debates, but no one got my approval or the approval of the Trump campaign before announcing it,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social social media platform. “When you are leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile networks with angry TRUMP and MAGA hating hosts asking the “questions”, why subject yourself to being maligned and abused?”
Trump expressed particular concern with the second primary debate, scheduled to be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
“Also, the Second Debate is being held at the Reagan Library, whose chair is, surprisingly, Fred Ryan, editor of The Washington Post. NO!”

Former Proud Boys frontman blames Trump for Jan. 6 attack
The former leader of the far-right group Proud Boys has directly blamed Donald Trump for the violent attacks on the US Capitol on January 6.
Henry “Enrique” Tarrio is on trial for allegedly organizing a small group of Proud Boys to lead the assault on the United States Capitol to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s electoral victory over Trump.
His lawyer, Nayib Hassan, during his closing argument Tuesday, quoted Trump’s “fight like hell” cry at a rally hours before his supporters attacked the building with lawmakers inside.
“It was the words of Donald Trump, it was his motivation, it was his anger that caused what happened on January 6 in his incredible, beautiful city,” Hassan said.
“They want to use Enrique Tarrio as a scapegoat for Donald Trump and those in power.”
