A famous King Charles has revealed that he was once asked to star in an X-Rated movie as the monarch before his upcoming coronation ceremony.
Guy Ingle, 63, divulged the bizarre request in an interview with New! Magazine, according to The Mirror, as he reflected on some of the more bizarre work commitments he’s been asked to make.
“Once, I was asked to appear in an X-rated film, much to my amusement,” Ingle told the outlet, according to The Mirror.
“I laughed at the offer, but politely declined.”
Ingle, who has been working in the entertainment industry since the 1990s, expressed his admiration for the royals.
“I have always had great respect for royalty, so I would never portray the king in a negative light,” he said.
The Post has reached out to representatives of the royal family for comment.
Ingle has starred in other films featuring him as King Charles, including the 2008 hit “Superhero Movie” opposite the late Canadian actor Leslie Nielsen.
“I was treated like a star, limo rides and a five-star hotel and then moved to an apartment in Beverly Hills,” he told the Caters News Agency of the experience, citing it as his “best”.
Ingle said that in his early years, he faced a lot of rejection before he finally started to gain some traction by doing actual impersonations.
And while he was quite upset when Queen Elizabeth II passed away last September, Ingle told the news agency that his career has never been so busy because he was no longer a “secondary character.”
“The workload has quadrupled, but I never let myself be dragged into any inappropriate work because I have too much respect for the royal family to do so,” Ingle said.
Being a real impersonator takes a lot of work. Groin revealed in the New! Magazine Interview You have to do a lot of research on King Charles, including studying the latest photos and videos of him to make sure he has mastered the body language.
He said that preparing to become the king is like any other acting job and that it takes him 20 minutes to transform into the monarch, complete with a nearly $500 hairpiece.
“I have the same approach to most of my concerts as King Charles,” he explained to Caters. “I have my agents give me information about the person who booked me and what the event is so I can tailor the routine.
“I learn the script and prepare my costume, practice my lines while putting on my makeup, and then arrive at the location in plenty of time.”
Because he is so recognizable, the would-be royal avoids taking the subway, as he is often stared at or even asked questions.
But it looks like Ingle is preparing better for this weekend, as King Charles’ coronation ceremony will take place on Saturday May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
On the attendee list is King Charles’ son, Prince Harry, who has apparently been at odds with his family for the past few years.
He will attend the ceremony without his wife, Meghan Markle.
